To cut down on cost this festive season, here are 7 Christmas decorations to make with the kids.
Christmas is an expensive time, and it can feel like a lot of pressure to budget for everything you and the kids might want.
But don't worry; we're always here to help make life easier for our moms.
And to make your dollars stretch a little further this Christmas, here are some pretty decorations you can make at home with the kids for a fraction of the cost of the shop-bought variety.
7 Christmas decorations to make with the kids
- Cupcake wrapper Christmas trees: These are so simple and yet so beautiful. All you need are cupcake cases, some glue and paint, and a few old buttons or sequences.
- Hanging spiral Christmas tree: Just trace a spiral on a piece of green card, cut along the line, and decorate with stickers, pompoms, and glitter to finish. Then hang from the tree as memories forever!
- Homemade snow globes: Old jam jars, some fake snow, and maybe even some tiny battery fairy lights, and voilà! Just ensure the supervising adult is in charge of supergluing on the lid.
4. Paper plate angels: It really doesn't get much more simple than this. A few careful folds and your humble paper plates can be transformed into angels ready for your child to decorate however they like.
5. Button wreath decorations: All you need is some wire and a bag of buttons. Then watch the kids get to work.
6. Snowmen pegs: These are probably our favourite! You can paint some wooden pegs white and then let the kids turn them into snowmen.
7. Bead candy canes: You probably already have pipe cleaners and beads in your arts and crafts kit. And these can be easily transformed into festive Christmas candy canes.
