There was widespread shock and sadness in Jamaica after the discovery of a foetus in the sewer at the Kingston Public Hospital.
In a statement on Thursday, the Ministry of Health and Wellness said preliminary information received revealed the foetus was discovered by a man cleaning the sewer underneath the basement of the hospital.
The matter has been reported to the police and investigations are now underway.
The MOHW also stated that the public will be updated on the progress of those investigations.
