Weaning recipe: Yummy baked plantain

What could be better than baked plantain slices served warm, with full-fat plain yoghurt?

This is a great dish for your baby to learn how to dip, and it doubles up as a tasty snack for the whole family too.

Ingredients

1 plantain

1-2 tsp vegetable oil

1 tbsp plain full fat yoghurt (one portion)

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 180C (fan).
  2. Slice the ends off the plantain, remove the peel and cut diagonally into thick slices.
  3. Add the oil to a baking tray, place the plantain slices on top and make sure the oil is spread evenly (top and bottom of plantain).
  4. Bake for around 20 minutes (turning them over halfway) until the edges are golden brown.
  5. Leave to cool before serving. Put the plain full-fat yoghurt on the side for dipping.
